1. General Principles
The International Journal of Innovative Medicine (IJIM) is an international, peer-reviewed, online scientific journal that publishes original research, innovative studies on clinical practices, reviews, and current scientific assessments in all fields of medicine and health sciences.
-
Publication Frequency: The journal is published online three times a year (April, August, and December).
-
Language: The publication language of the journal is English. Great importance is attached to the use of language in accordance with high academic standards.
-
Originality: Manuscripts submitted to IJIM must be original and must not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors bear full responsibility for copyright and ethical issues arising from manuscripts that have been published previously but were not declared or detected.
-
Funding Disclosure: If a study has been supported by any institution, organization, or fund, this must be clearly stated in the relevant section of the manuscript (e.g., under "Funding" or "Acknowledgements").
2. Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted to IJIM undergo a rigorous three-stage evaluation process:
Phase 1: Preliminary Evaluation In this stage, the manuscript is reviewed by the Editor in terms of:
-
Compliance with the journal's author guidelines,
-
Formal requirements and formatting,
-
Presence of mandatory ethical declarations,
-
Language proficiency,
-
Relevance to the journal's scope.
Manuscripts that do not pass the preliminary evaluation are returned to the author without being sent to peer review. This preliminary assessment process is finalized within a maximum of 3 months.
Phase 2: Peer Review (Double-Blind) Manuscripts that pass the preliminary evaluation are sent to at least two expert referees in the relevant field.
-
Double-Blind Review: The identities of authors and reviewers are kept strictly confidential from each other throughout the process.
-
Decision Criteria: Positive reports from both referees are required for the manuscript to proceed to the next stage. If necessary, the manuscript may be sent to more than two reviewers.
-
Communication: Reviewers and authors cannot communicate directly; all correspondence is conducted through the journal system via the Editor.
-
Revisions: Authors are obliged to make the corrections indicated in the referee reports. However, they have the right to object to negative reviewer opinions by presenting their justifications and evidence. If the Editor deems it necessary, the manuscript may be sent to a third reviewer.
Phase 3: Editorial Board Decision Manuscripts that pass the peer review process are examined one last time by the Editorial Board.
Note: Manuscripts submitted to the journal are not returned, whether published or not. If reviewers do not complete the evaluation within a reasonable time, the study may be directed to a new reviewer.
3. Publication Ethics and Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts submitted to IJIM must comply with national and international ethical rules (e.g., Helsinki Declaration).
-
Plagiarism Detection: IJIM uses Turnitin software to detect plagiarism/similarity.
-
Similarity Limit: The total similarity rate must not exceed 20%.
-
Submission Requirement: The similarity report must be uploaded as a "Supplementary File" during the submission process.
-
Ethics Committee Approval: Studies requiring ethics committee permission (clinical studies, research involving human/animal subjects, etc.) must include the relevant ethics committee decision details in the manuscript.
4. ORCID Requirement
To ensure accurate attribution of research, it is mandatory for all authors to provide valid ORCID iDs during the submission process.
5. Legal & Scientific Responsibility
The author(s) bear full legal and scientific responsibility for the content of the published works. The journal does not accept liability for the views expressed in the papers.
