License and Copyright Policy
1. Open Access and Copyright Policy
International Journal of Innovative Medicine (IJIM) is a fully Open Access journal. To ensure the widest dissemination of research, we adhere to the following principles:
-
Copyright Retention: Unlike traditional journals, authors retain the copyright of their work. They grant IJIM only the non-exclusive right of first publication.
-
Licensing (CC BY 4.0): All articles published in IJIM are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
-
Under this license, third parties are free to share (copy and redistribute) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon) the material for any purpose, even commercially, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the source is properly cited.
2. Author Rights
Since the authors retain the copyright, they have full rights to:
-
Share their article in institutional repositories, personal websites, or social media immediately after publication (no embargo period).
-
Use the article or parts of it in their own future works (e.g., lectures, books, thesis, expanded research).
-
Distribute copies of the article for academic, research, or teaching purposes.
3. Author Warranties and Publishing Agreement
(Note: Since authors retain copyright, this section is an agreement regarding the originality and validity of the work, rather than a copyright transfer.)
By submitting a manuscript to IJIM, authors imply that:
-
The work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract, a preprint, or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis).
-
It is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
-
Its publication has been approved by all co-authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities at the institution where the work was carried out.
-
The authors guarantee that the work does not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights of any third party.
Authors are required to sign and submit the "Author License Agreement Form" (instead of Copyright Transfer Form) upon acceptance of their manuscript, confirming these terms.
4. Archiving Policy (Sherpa/Romeo)
IJIM permits and encourages authors to post items submitted to the journal on personal websites or institutional repositories both prior to and after publication, while providing bibliographic details that credit, if applicable, its publication in this journal.
